Dian's Education
Dian attended Marin Junior College taking a business course. She worked various clerical and laboratory jobs to put herself through school. Dian did not like business, she rejected her stepfather’s plan and pursued a preventrainary medical degree at the University of California. Dian loved studying animals and did well with her writing but struggled with the “hard” sciences and failed her second year. Then she transferred to San Jose State College, and graduated in 1954 with a degree in occupational therapy.
