When you realize the value of all life, you dwell less on what is past and concentrate more on the preservation of the future.
~Dian Fossey
The Story of Dian
Dian Fossey was born January 16th, 1932. Her parents were George and Kitty Fossey. When she was 6, her mother remarried to Richard Price. When she was 6 she started horseback riding. She later became an occupational therapist. Dian took a once in a lifetime trip to Africa and while she was there, she broke her ankle. She then met Dr. Louis Leakey and Jane Goodall. Louis offered her a job studing gorillas, and she was off on her way to Tanzania Africa. She met her favorite gorilla Digit. He was her family with all the other gorillas. Digit was then killed by poachers and Dian was so sad. She was later killed for her work on December 26, 1985.
